It may be difficult to imagine a series of sensors and cameras to act as a partial or full replacement for humans while a car is in motion, but this is exactly what mechanics school  students could encounter in the future. 

Vehicles that emerge years from now could very well develop technology where the car can easily navigate itself and drive more safely in the process, and companies such as Google have already taken steps to bring this autonomy to life. 
It’s also not a stretch to imagine autonomous car technology also being capable of connecting with other cars on the road, equipped with easier and more sophisticated types of in-car entertainment, and having the ability to complete various tasks on the go. What’s more, they may be able to activate changes to temperature and other settings based on the driver’s preferences as detected by AI, and provide services such as Wi-Fi.

Mechanics School Students Should Expect Further Technological Innovations

In any cars that emerge in the future, however distant it may be, students in auto mechanic training can expect to see greater technological capabilities in both the interior and exterior of the vehicle. 
Examples of this — posited by a concept car for 2050 by Auto Trader — include increased developments in AI, built-in mattresses for the cabin, panoramic views for fully-autonomous car rides, and digital exterior paint that can be changed via an app at the car owner’s will. In other words, the cars of the future is one that we can imagine to be much more connected and advanced than the cars of today.
