Although the first automobiles took the road in the late 19th century, safety technology only really began to develop midway through the 20th century. It took many accidents for inventors to begin devising ways to make automobiles safer for both passengers and pedestrians. Students enrolled in auto training school are probably aware of how far protective technology has come, with companies like Volvo and Mercedes-Benz at the forefront of safety feature engineering.
Most safety technology developed today utilizes computerized systems which are designed to engage when accidents happen, or help prevent them from occurring. No doubt this will soon change the landscape of auto mechanic training and the way service technicians approach car repairs.
