Well, not exactly. But the interior is made from primarily recycled material, including carpets created from fishing nets that the company removed from the ocean.

The World’s Most Sustainable Vehicle?
As this car’s name suggests, Fisker is a big fan of the environment. In fact, the company claims that the Ocean is the most sustainable vehicle in the world.
In addition to the recycled interior material, the entirely electric, zero emissions vehicle is made from fully vegan components, meaning that none of the materials used in its manufacture are derived from animals.
One of the Ocean’s most noteworthy features – for environmentalists and auto mechanic school students alike – is its solar-powered roof. The panels help heat the vehicle in the winter and provide air conditioning in the summer. Although they won’t keep your car’s battery fully charged, they do provide a practical method of reducing energy consumption while driving.

What Students in Auto Mechanic School Should Know About the Ocean’s Functionality
If you are interested in auto mechanic training in Ontario, you’re probably curious as to how the Fisker Ocean’s functionality holds up in comparison to its EV rivals. Ever since Fisker released teasers of its new car online, many have drawn comparisons between the Ocean and Tesla’s upcoming Model Y – both crossovers offering innovative promises.
With the Model Y boasting a 483 km range, accelerating to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 241 km/hr, how does the Fisker Ocean compare?
The Ocean’s driving range, for starters, more or less equals its competitor, falling between 402 – 483 km. But the Ocean does accelerate faster than the Model Y, going from zero to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds.
In addition, the Fisker Ocean offers 2 and all-wheel drive configurations, making it clear that this vehicle is made for adventure. You can also switch the Ocean into ‘California Mode’, which opens the three windows on each side of the car, as well as the rear window and the solar-powered roof – perfect for those who want to transport their surfboard or enjoy the ocean air.
As for which design is better – that’s a matter of preference. The Fisker Ocean’s hardy structure appears catered to an audience that is looking for a sturdy crossover for off-roading. Compared to the Model Y, the Fisker Ocean is certainly less sleek, and could almost be mistaken for an SUV.
Where and When Will We See the Fisker Ocean?
According to manufacturers, the Ocean will begin production in 2021, and hit the market in 2022 at a starting price of $48,910 CAD. Fisker also offers some other different purchasing options, including leasing and user-determined ownership periods.
However, experts aren’t sure if the company will be able to meet the 2022 release date, especially considering the rumours that the company wants to set up production hubs in China, the USA, and Europe – an ambitious plan. Considering the buzz the Ocean has generated online, though, the potential wait may be worth it for car fans.
