The Sport Touring Hatchback comes with a standard manual transmission and turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower. With greater power output and a more spacious design than the base LX sedan, the Sport hatchback wins the vote of many automobile enthusiasts.
2021 also brings a new Limited Edition model to the high performance Civic Type R. The new model is powered by a 306-horsepower engine, with adapted steering and suspension tuning, BBS wheels, and a three-mode drive system.

Professionals in an automotive mechanic career will be interested in the new Honda Civic’s engine performance. The Honda Civic has always been well-regarded for its powerful turbocharged engine, and the 2021 model continues to uphold that reputation. This year, there are three engines available for the different trim levels of the Civic.
The standard for the Civic sedan is a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder engine, yielding 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. The Civic’s engine performance is top-notch, offering a smooth drive with responsive steering and handling.
The EX and Touring sedans and the hatchback offer a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine that produces 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes standard with a continuously variable transmission, but the hatchback also offers the option of a 6-speed manual transmission.
Most buyers will be happy with the standard Civic sedan engine, but those looking for quicker acceleration and greater power output can opt for a turbocharged option.

A Look at the Tech Features of the 2021 Honda Civic
Graduates of mechanics schools should take note of the new technology available with the 2021 Honda Civic. All but the standard LX model offer an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, as well as USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity. If you’re looking for a more basic and user-friendly interface, the standard LX model offers a 5-inch screen with physical knobs and buttons to make it easier to operate while driving the vehicle.
The Touring trim also offers a 10-speaker radio system with excellent sound quality. Additional features available in the Civic include satellite radio, HD radio, and navigation.
