Will Everyone With an Auto Mechanic Career Love the 2021 Buick Envision?

If there’s anything we’ve learned when it comes to recent auto trends, it’s that North American buyers love a crossover model. While the Envision is probably somewhere in the middle of Buick’s SUV lineup, this crossover has gotten both longer and wider in 2021.
Thanks to some upgrades, the 2021 Buick Envision has become a  crossover with the stylish trimmings of a luxury SUV. In fact, the Envision could be the vehicle that takes Buick to the next level, competing with models such as the Lincoln Corsair, the Acura RDX, and more. Keep reading to find out what makes the 2021 Envision so special.

If You’re in Automotive College, You Should Know That the Envision’s Exterior Is Probably its Best Feature

The biggest differences between the previous Buick Envision and the 2021 arrival has to do with the vehicle’s exterior. The latest Envision has been extensively redesigned for a more attractive, sleek look. It has a longer wheelbase, it’s much more sculpted on its sides, it has a larger grille, and the headlights and taillights are set closer together. The door bottoms, lower bumpers, and exhaust pipes are all equipped with a metallic finisher for a sleeker appearance. Although the differences may be subtle, a professional with an auto mechanic career might be able to recognize that these additional creases and curves give the 2021 Envision a more modern look, distinguishing it from the somewhat clunky shape of its past and making it more competitive with high-end manufacturers.

Want to Know How the Envision Performs?

Although Buick hasn’t released many specs on the Envision, we do know that it will be equipped with a turbocharged, 2.0L four-cylinder engine, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. However, it’s pretty likely that its powertrain will be consistent with the 2020 Envision, with an output of 252 horsepower and a 0 to 60 time of 6.6 seconds. As students in auto mechanic school might know, this speed still isn’t quite enough for the 2021 Buick Envision to compete with class competitors such as Audi or BMW.
As for fuel economy, the 2021 front-wheel drive Envision will get 9.8 L/100km in the city and 7.59 L/100km on the highway, and the all-wheel drive model gets 10.69 L/100km in the city and 8.11 L/100km on the highway.

Interior and Safety Features

This 5-seater crossover looks like it’ll still have a bit less cargo space than its competitors, although the exact numbers aren’t out yet. However, in the 2021 Envision, Buick is offering a variety of trim levels, from Select, the base level, to the Avenir. The Avenir could offer features such as a panoramic sunroof, genuine leather upholstery, a digital gauge display, interior accents, and more. At the base level, the Envision comes equipped with safety features such as parking assistance, active lane control, and pedestrian detection with automatic emergency braking. The Envision will also be equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a first for Buick, which will include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
